Kayleigh Hann is our longest serving member of staff at Clever Clogs and says she wanted to work in childcare for as long as she can remember.
Kayleigh joined the nursery straight from college 14 years ago, and now aged 32, she is a Senior Practitioner in charge of Little Owls & Foxes, our pre-school room.
It’s at this age that the children are preparing to leave the nursery for school, so Kayleigh has an important part of play in this transition.
She explains: “We have great relationships with the different schools the children go to when they leave Clever Clogs and the teachers come to the nursery so they can meet the children and so we can share information on their development.
“By this stage, they have developed their own little personalities and life skills, which makes them ready for school.
“You never get used to seeing them go. It is still sad but rewarding knowing the part you have played getting them to this stage.”
When she’s not at work Kayleigh enjoys spending time with her partner and their son.
She adds: “My son loves animals so that generally means a trip to a farm or zoo!”
