Clever Clogs is a family-owned children’s day nursery group in Durham, operating two Ofsted rated outstanding early years settings in the cathedral city.

Our nurseries in Belmont and Bowburn offer care to children aged 0-11, including out-of-school care and holiday clubs.

Both nurseries are divided into rooms, all of which are designed to meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage.

When your child comes to Clever Clogs, we plan their nursery experience very carefully and sensitively, taking into account their individual needs and requirements.

Their progression is monitored to ensure they learn and develop at their own pace and we document this process, including liaising with local schools, so when the time comes for children to leave Clever Clogs, they are very much prepared for the next stage of their learning journey.

Our staff are specially selected for their loving and caring nature, as well as their qualifications, and they are committed to ensuring that the children are at the heart of every single thing we do.

Both of our nurseries in Durham are rated as outstanding by Ofsted.

Inspectors said of Belmont: “children display high levels of positive behaviour as they form warm and caring attachments with staff and with their peers. Staff are excellent role models to the children and ensure children are exceptionally well cared for.” You can read the full report here.
